Bixby Knolls Landscape Design & Installation

Sometimes you find the right property, but the style of the home just does not fit you or your family. Changing the layout and architecture style of your home may seem impossible; however, it’s obtainable if you’re planning a complete remodel.

Recently, Builder Boy turned a ranch style home into a modern farmhouse, from redesigning the interior to exterior of the house with a full bathroom remodel and adding a second story.

Here’s the process on how we turned a house from ranch style to modern farmhouse, the Roosevelt Home.

Located in the heart of Bixby Knolls, this landscape design project reimagines modern curb appeal with a focus on sustainability and aesthetics. The design blends minimalist architecture with drought-tolerant landscaping, creating a space that is both visually striking and environmentally conscious.

The front yard features a harmonious combination of natural elements, including smooth river rocks, native succulents, and ornamental grasses. Carefully placed boulders provide structure, while plants like red yucca, agave, and barrel cacti add texture and color. The use of gravel and decomposed granite not only enhances the visual appeal but also promotes water conservation, aligning with the region’s climate needs.

The curved concrete walkway leads visitors to the home’s entrance, offering a welcoming path that integrates seamlessly with the surrounding landscape. Strategically placed low-profile lighting fixtures illuminate the design elements, adding warmth and dimension during the evening hours.

This project reflects a modern take on desert landscaping, balancing clean lines with organic forms. It stands as a testament to the beauty of sustainable design, enhancing both the home’s curb appeal and its connection to the natural environment.
